Uttara Ashadha nakshatra can be translated as the later victory or the second inconvincible one. This nakshatra is associated with the Sun and is ruled by the deity Vishwadeva or the universal god. According to mythology, there were ten children of Dharma and Vishva, the daughter of the Universe’s Genetic Engineer Daksha 1. Vasu (Goodness) 2. Satya (Truth) 3. Kratu (Will Power) 4. Daksha (Ritual Skill) 5. Kala (Time) 6. Kama (Desire/ Lust) 7. Dhriti (Firmness/ Forbearance) 8. Kuru (Ancestors) 9. Pururavas  (Abundance/Brightness) 10. Madravas (Peak of Joy)). This nakshatra is also Associated with Ganesha (Vignesh) the Remover of Obstacles.

There is an interesting story revolving around this nakshatra. Once Bramha the god of creation was impressed by a demon. He gave the demon two boons. His life will exist in a hundred kavacha which Brahma gave to him. He cannot be killed until that kavacha is removed from his body. Another boon was that the one who will remove all the kavacha will have to fight him for a hundred years. With such a boon, he started exercising his powers by doing both good and bad things. Vishnu intervened to kill this demon. He incarnated as two men Nara and Narayana. After a hundred years of fighting the battle, Nara managed to destroy one of the kavacha. Then Nara and Narayan alternately started destroying one kavacha after another. This way when there was only one kavacha left he decided to take shelter to the Sun god. After many years, he incarnated as the son of the Sun-god Karna. Indra once disguised as a beggar came to Karna and asked for his last kavacha and out f generosity he gave it. Later, in the battle of Kurukshetra, he was defeated and killed by arjuna. The symbol of this nakshatra which is the elephant’s tusk signifies combat, struggle, and fighting spirit. These natives do not understand how to accept defeat. Leaders are born under this nakshatra. The planetary influence of Jupiter, Saturn, and Sun gives a native great leadership skill. They can rise in career and position. These natives can easily get jobs in a government institution. This is a materialistic nakshatra. For this reason, Jupiter is debilitated in this nakshatra under the sign of Capricorn. These natives are extremely focused and goal-oriented in the materialistic life. They do not get much into spirituality or religion.
